Nerds In Society

It seems that every day while gaming, i always see or hear someone call another person a nerd or a geek, as if it is a bad thing to be so. Yet, why do people think that? Nerds usually have a higher IQ than most people, they have better job opportunities, and usually make more money. Furthermore, a lot of the time the people i see calling others nerds in a derogatory fashion, are one themselves. On the popular ladder site Gamebattles, for instance, it seems that a lot of the people that act in this manner are people who have dozens of matches played, and does that not make them a geek themselves? Personally, im proud to be able to call myself a nerd. While i may not be able to get women like the jocks i know do now, im assured that once they enter adult society, i will be making twice as much as them, drive a better car (which i already do), and probably have much better hair. So, to those of you out there who think being a nerd is a bad thing, i ask you, "Why?"
